The School Reopening 2.0 Initiative is a program developed by the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) to help bring an end to SARS and other severe respiratory diseases.
This program is for students, their parents, guardians, and caregivers, teachers, and school staff who are returning to school in fall 2021. For the health and safety of all, we need to make sure students are aware of how to practice daily preventive measures.

Yes, students may be seated at tables as long as partitions are used to separate individuals at the table, or they are physically distanced to the maximum extent possible. Schools should consult the School Reopening Guidance for best practices.
What updated guidance has been released regarding physical distancing in schools?
Based upon the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) updated K-12 school guidance, which reflects the latest science on physical distance between students in classrooms, Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) now recommends that, with universal masking, students should maintain a distance of at least 3 feet in classroom settings.
What thermometer should school systems use for taking temperatures?
School systems should consult p. 15 of the School Reopening Guidance for guidance on obtaining thermometers. School systems should use a touchless thermometer whenever possible.
